ENZYMATIC DEHAIRING OF SKINS

ENZYMATIC DEHAIRING OF SKINS
Detail:
ENZYMATIC DEHAIRING OF SKINS
Product: Process for removal of hair from animal skin using clarizyme, (an enzyme).
Application: This dehairing process is an alternative to conventional chemical process, which creates sulphide pollution
Feature: A protease enzyme formulation, named ‘clarizyme’, effectively loosens the hair from skins and allows recovery of hair as saleable product. Enzyme has good caseinolytic activity over a pH range of 6.0 to 10.0 and temperature range of 20-50oC with no deleterious effect on skin and hair proteins.
Commercialisation: Extensively studied for its efficacy in commercial tanneries
